Hayward La Honda Music Camp is a non-profit organization whose mission is to inspire young musicians to achieve their best musically, to enjoy a great social and recreational experience, and take- home memories that will last a lifetime.
The Camp is organized to challenge students in a variety of creative pursuits and is devoted to the development of musicianship for students grades 6 – 12 (aged 11-19). This is accomplished through a highly supportive Camp structure and concentrated program of rehearsal, performance, study, recreation and general camp life in the beautiful surroundings of YMCA Camp Jones Gulch.
Our Camp has a strong tradition of passionately supporting musicianship for all students regardless of financial need. This has been met through the generosity of individuals and businesses.
The support of our Donors and Sponsors is vital to the continuing success of our scholarship program.
Thank you for your generous donation!
Joella Wells Schroeder
Oct. 6, 1935 - Dec. 27, 2021
Joella was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, and beloved Grammi. She married the love of her life, Allen Schroeder, in 1956. She worked as a telephone operator, and later after raising her girls worked in real estate, accounting, and retired from the IRS. She was fiercely independent, loved singing and the limelight, anything ladybug, camping, volunteering, and led multiple Campfire and Scout groups. She was an Avon lady, Airstream enthusiast, world traveler, cinephile, bridge and game player, and devoted Methodist. Her joy was her family.
Survived by her loving family: daughters, Sharin (Rick) and Suzan (Marvin); grandchildren, Shannon (Patrick), Kacey (Collin), Russell (Ery), and Anna; and three great-grandchildren, Miles, Daphne and Ben; sisters, Linda, Barbara and Janet; and many cherished cousins, nieces and nephews.
No one was a stranger to Joella, she loved meeting new people which helped her endure dementia, which she handled with such grace. She loved a good hug, so to celebrate her life please give a hug to someone who needs one.
