Applicants must be high school graduates or at least 18 years of age,

with preference given to music students who have

completed at least one year of college.

Applicants must be proficient on a woodwind, brass, string, percussion,

or keyboard instrument and demonstrate

positive leadership and communication skills.

Camper experience at La Honda Music Camp is preferred but not required.

Counselors are under the direct supervision of the Camp Coordinators.​

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

• Provide 24-hour supervision of campers when on duty

• Adjudicate placement and seating auditions

• Sit in and rehearse with the campers in the bands/orchestras

• Perform in the staff orchestra and/or jazz band

• Perform in the staff chamber music groups

• Assist with rehearsal setup

• Assist with distribution of ensemble parts

• Assist conductors with music copying and rehearsal logistics, if necessary

• Assist and sing in camp choir

• Perform in the evening camp activities/concerts

• Assist with stage crew and performance logistics for all camp performances

• Supervise campers and assist with all recreation and social activities, as assigned by Recreation Directors
